This brief setting of the Mass was originally written for the Church of St John the Evangelist in Edinburgh. It’s based on melodic material from Be Thou My Vision and includes a new descant for the final hymn. This celebration of vocal worship balances poignant emotion with reverent excitement that bursts forth in the closing verse. Although originally written for Pentecost, this mass setting is more than suitable for Ordinary time and most feast days.
